Εδώ και χρόνια ο Σύλλογος ORIENTACTION συνεργάζεται με τα Ηνωμένα Έθνη και τις Βρετανικές Βάσεις στο Άθλημα του Προσανατολισμού. Η οργάνωση τους ονομάζεται Cyprus Services Orienteering League (CSOL).
Υπάρχει πάντοτε ανοικτή πρόσκληση να πάρουμε μέρος στους αγώνες τους και σχεδόν πάντοτε μέλη του Cyprus Services Orienteering League παίρνουν μέρος στους δικούς μας αγώνες.
Πρόσφατα η συνεργασία αυτή τέθηκε σε πιο «επίσημη» βάση και όταν μέλη του συλλόγου παίρνουν μέρος είτε ολοκληρώσουν τον αγώνα επιτυχώς, είτε όχι, πάντοτε κερδίσουν πόντους ανάλογα με το βαθμό επιτυχίας. Στο τέλος κάθε χρόνου, όσοι πάρουν τους περισσότερους πόντους κερδίζουν βραβεία.
Πιστεύω είναι μια πολύ καλή ευκαιρία για όλους τους αθλητές να έχουν μια πιο πλούσια δραστηριότητα και να αναπτύξουν το ταλέντο τους σε διαφορετικά περιβάλλοντα. Δυστυχώς οι αγώνες τους γίνονται κατά τη διάρκεια εργάσιμων ημερών και πολλοί από εμάς εργάζονται.
Θα κοινοποιώ όμως τους αγώνες και όσοι διάθετε τον χρόνο μπορείτε να πάρετε μέρος.
Δεν υπάρχει όριο ηλικίας! Από μικροί μέχρι 100 χρονών μπορούν να αγωνιστούν!!!!
Με την ευκαιρία αυτή κοινοποιώ τον επόμενο αγώνα του CSOL που θα γίνει στο χωριό Παλαιχώρι τις 30 Σεπτεμβρίου, ημέρα Τετάρτη.

cyprus services orienteering league – event no 2 – WED 30 Sep 2015
- The second event in the Cyprus Services Orienteering League for the 2015-2016 Season, will be held on Wednesday 30 September 2015 and will take place in the form of an urban sprint event, in and around Palechori village, hosted by UNFICYP.

| Location: | Registration, start and finish will be in the centre of the village by the cafes, and close to the car park. Please note there is a small underground car park below. | |||
| Travel: | Palechori is best reached from Nicosia,or via Tseri and Dheftera if driving from Limassol or Larnaca. This route is probably quicker than driving through the mountains, unless you are driving direct from Troodos Station. Take the E903 South West and follow the signs for Palechori. Please see maps below. From the main road take the left turn signposted for the Police Station and this will take you over the hill and down into the village centre.

| Timings: | Registration will be available from 1000 hrs and the course will be open from 1015 hrs. Last start will be at 1215 hrs and the course will close at 1300 hrs. Starts will be staggered and there is to be a gap of at least five minutes between runners and ten minutes between members of the same team on the Blue Course. Two minutes per runner and four minutes per member of the same team on the Red course. | |||
| Courses: | Three courses will be available: Blue Course – A moderately technical course of approximately 4 kms Red Course – A less technical course of approximately 3 kms. Yellow/orange Course – A simple beginners course of approximately 1.5 km | |||
| Terrain: | The village rises steeply on both sides of a valley, with a seasonal river running through it. There are three crossing points (bridges). Plenty of narrow, twisty village roads and foot paths – some tarmac, some cobbled, some loose surface. Competitors are to avoid trespassing on private property and gardens. | |||
| Map: | The 1:3,000 ‘Palechori’ Map will be used. This map was produced for Orientaction in 2013 by Michael Savvides and is used with their kind permission. Maps will be pre-marked. Loose control descriptions will be available. A sample of part of the map is attached on the right. | |||
| Equipment: | Runners are to provide their own compass and whistle. Full leg coverage is not necessary. | |||
| Facilities: | Water will be available at the registration area but further beverages and refreshments may be purchased from the nearby village cafes and restaurants, where there are toilet facilities. | |||
| Scoring: (Reminder) | As per CSOL Rules ie: The winner of Blue Course will receive 1000 points, the winner of Red Course 750 points and the winner of the Yellow/Orange Course 500 points. Subsequent scores will be winner’s time divided by runner’s time multiplied by 1000 for Blue, 750 for Red Course and 500 for Yellow/Orange Course. Team points will be awarded for the top 4 runners who have scored the highest within a team. Teams may enter as many personnel as they wish on each course. Teams organising an event will be awarded 3000 points and their fastest other runner will make up the overall team score. | |||
