Στα πλαίσια της ανάπτυξης του αθλήματος της Κλειστής Κωπηλασίας (Indoor Rowing), της διάδοσης των αθλητικών ιδεωδών και της καλλιέργειας του «ευ αγωνίζεσθαι», ανάμεσα σε σωματεία και αθλητές/τριες της Κύπρου και του εξωτερικού, σας προσκαλούμε στον 1ο Διεθνή Αγώνα Κλειστής Κωπηλασίας (1st Cyprus Indoor Rowing Challenge). Ο αγώνας θα διεξαχθεί στις 26 Οκτωβρίου στο κλειστό γυμναστήριο του Heritage Private School στην περιοχή του χωριού Παλώδεια της επαρχίας Λεμεσού και θα τον τιμήσουν με την παρουσία τους οι Ελληνίδες Παγκόσμιες Πρωταθλήτριες Αννέτα Κυρίδου, Μαρία Κυρίδου και Χριστίνα Μπούρμπου.

Οι συμμετέχοντες στον 1ο Διεθνή Αγώνα Κλειστής Κωπηλασίας θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να μιλήσουν αλλά και να κωπηλατήσουν τόσο με τις Ελληνίδες πρωταθλήτριες όσο και με άλλους αθλητές/τριες από το εξωτερικό οι οποίοι έχουν ήδη δηλώσει συμμετοχή στον εν λόγω αγώνα. Μέχρι στιγμής έχουν δηλώσει συμμετοχή αθλητές από τέσσερις χώρες, Ελλάδα, Τσεχία, Ρωσία και Κύπρο.

Ευελπιστούμε ότι θα στηρίξετε με τη συμμετοχή σας αυτή την προσπάθεια που προβάλλει την Κυπριακή Κωπηλασία όχι μόνο στην Κύπρο αλλά και στο εξωτερικό.

st Cyprus Indoor Rowing Challenge, in collaboration with the Limassol Rowing Centre,
is proud to announce that it is making its debut in Limassol in October 2019.
The event aims to attract athletes from not only Cyprus but also from Overseas and
categories are available for all ages and abilities.
Please read this packet in its entirety, as it contains important information about this year’s
event. All competitors are responsible for the information included in this packet.

Important Dates & Schedule Information
August 1, 2019 – Online registration opens on
October 20, 2019 – Initial online registration deadline. All entry fees become non-refundable after this
deadline.
October 23, 2019 – Initial race schedule posted.
October 26, 2019 – On-site credential pick-up is available.
Schedule Information:
Racing will take place from 2pm until 8pm on Saturday 26th October 2019. A complete racing schedule
will be available following the close of entries. Under no circumstances will races be run after 26th
October 2019.
All racing is a finals-only format, regardless of the number of entries in each event. If there is more than
one heat for a particular event, the fastest time overall will determine the winner. Races will be seeded
by time within an event.
Award ceremonies will be held as described in the Medals section of this entry packet.

Each team consists of 4 athletes,2 male and 2 female. In the GYM CHALLENGE, all 4 athletes
MUST be of the same gender.

Registration and Insurance Information
All competitors, regardless of whether they are members of a club or association affiliated with a
national rowing federation, shall be responsible for their own adequate medical and accident
insurance, as well as insurance covering liability, property and equipment.
Commitment Form/Event Release of Liability:
All participants in CRIC events must sign the Rower’s Commitment Form/Event Release of Liability
during online registration.
Athlete Check-in:
Race bracelets will be issued to competitors on 26th October 2019, at Athlete Check-in at the race venue
(The Heritage School, Limassol). Race bracelets will be available for pick up by Club Affiliation.
Unaffiliated rowers will pick up Race bracelets under the listing “Unaffiliated” and then by name. Race
bracelets must be picked up no later than one hour prior to race time.
Competitors will be required to show their Race bracelet in order to enter the Competition Floor.

Entry Information:
No paper entries will be accepted for this event. All entries must be made online at:

[email protected] Initial registration will be available beginning 1st August 2019
and ending 20th October 2019. No refunds will be given once the initial registration period has
ended.
All entry fees must be paid in full by 20th October 2019. After this date, unpaid entries will be
considered late entries and subject to the additional fees associated with such designation.
Entry Fees:
Entry fee is €10.00 for all individuals. This entitles them to take place in the individual and team
challenges.
Any team wanting to take place in the Corporate or Gym Challenge will be subject to pay an additional
€50.00 per team. A late fee of €5.00 will be charged for any entries accepted during the Late Entry
period.
Entry fees become non-refundable on 20th October 2019.
Late Entries:
Beginning 21st October, late entries may be accepted in events where there is still capacity in an
event.
Online late entries may be submitted via email until 23rd October 2019.
After 23rd October, a limited number of late entries will be accepted at the regatta site on 26th October,
2019, during the morning’s on-site, space-available registration. This on-site registration will be
available on a first-come, first-served basis from 11:00-13:00. The on-site entry fee is €20.00 for
individuals and €70.00 for Company or Gym challenges. No late entries will be accepted after the close
of on-site registration on 26th October 2019.
All late entries must be submitted with complete information including name of competitor and date
of birth. Relay entries must provide complete information for each member of the relay.
Withdrawals:
Entries may be withdrawn without penalty until the end of the initial registration period on 20th
October 2019.
Beginning 21st October 2019, no refunds will be given for withdrawals.

Competition Information
Event Age Classifications:
Junior E: A competitor may compete in the JE category until December 31 of the year of his or her
10
th birthday.
Junior D: A competitor may compete in the JD category until December 31 of the year of his or her
12th birthday.
Junior C: A competitor may compete in the JC category until December 31 of the year of his or her
14th birthday.
Junior B: A competitor may compete in the JB category until December 31 of the year of his or her
16th birthday.
Junior A: A competitor may compete in the JA category until December 31 of the year of his or her
18th birthday.
Seniors: A competitor may compete in the SENIORS category until December 31 of the year of his or her
29th birthday.
Senior (Open): Senior (Open) events are open to competitors of any age.
Masters : A masters athlete is a competitor who has attained, or will attain, the age of 30 during the
current calendar year. A competitor’s age is determined as of December 31 of the current calendar
year, rounded down to the nearest whole number. A competitor thus becomes a master on January 1
of the year of his or her 30th birthday.

Masters competitors are required to race within the event designated for their age category.
Competitors are not eligible to race in events designated for older or younger categories.

1. They support fair racing within the para events
2. They develop valuable performance data once recorded on the Concept2 online world rankings

Outside Assistance:
Crews are reminded that they are not to receive outside assistance during a race except from the
unaided voice.
Practice Information:
Warm-up ergometers will be available just off the competition floor with absolute priority given
to competitors for the next race taking place on the race floor.
Medals and Awards:
All competitors will receive a participation Diploma.
Medals (gold, silver and bronze) to the top three finishers in all events.
Trophies will be awarded to top 3 teams in all Team 4X challenges.
A cash prize will be available for the winners of the Gym Challenge.

The competition will be held at the Heritage Private School Multifunction Hall (Palodia Limassol). The
location is about 5 minutes from the Polemidia- Troodos Roundabout. For directions and information
